OTHER
OPEN EXHIBITION — TERMS & CONDITIONS

MŌR Studio / April 2027

By submitting work for consideration for OTHER, applicants confirm that they have read and agree to the following terms.

01 / ELIGIBILITY

OTHER is open to artists, makers and creative practitioners working across contemporary art, craft and material practice.

We welcome work across painting, drawing, print, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, wood, glass, photography, mixed media and interdisciplinary practice.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over.

02 / ONE WORK

Each applicant may submit one work only for consideration.

Up to three images may be supplied where necessary to show different views or details of the same work.

Multiple submissions from the same applicant will not be considered.

The submitted work may be existing or newly made, but it must be complete, available for sale and available for the full exhibition period.

03 / SELECTION

OTHER is a curated open exhibition.

Submission does not guarantee selection.

Works will be selected by MŌR on the strength of the individual work and its relationship to the wider exhibition.

MŌR's curatorial decision is final.

Selected applicants will be contacted by 28 February 2027.

Selection relates specifically to the work submitted. Alternative or substitute works may not be supplied unless agreed in writing with MŌR.

04 / AVAILABILITY + EXCLUSIVITY

By submitting, the artist confirms that the work is available for the exhibition and, if selected, will remain available to MŌR from acceptance until the close of the exhibition on 25 April 2027.

Once selected, the work must not be sold, reserved, consigned to another gallery, exhibited elsewhere or otherwise made unavailable during this period without prior written agreement from MŌR.

Where the work is currently offered for sale through the artist's own website, online shop or other sales platform, its availability must be suspended for the duration of MŌR's exclusivity period.

Any sales enquiry relating to the selected work during this period should be referred to MŌR.

This exclusivity applies only to the individual work selected for OTHER.

Participation in OTHER does not give MŌR geographic or wider exclusive representation of the artist or their practice. Artists remain free to exhibit and sell other works independently or through other galleries.

05 / OWNERSHIP + CONSIGNMENT

All selected works are supplied to MŌR on a consignment / sale-or-return basis.

Ownership of the work remains with the artist until the work is sold and payment has been received in accordance with these terms.

Consigned work does not become the property or stock of MŌR.

If unsold, ownership remains entirely with the artist and the work will be returned or made available for collection following the exhibition.

06 / RETAIL PRICE

All submitted works must have a stated retail selling price.

Artists should ensure that the price submitted is consistent with the established market price for their work elsewhere.

The retail price agreed on selection will be the public selling price for the duration of the exhibition and cannot subsequently be changed without agreement from MŌR.

Prices should take MŌR's commission into account.

07 / COMMISSION + PAYMENT

MŌR operates on a 45% commission on the agreed retail selling price of work sold.

The remaining 55% is payable to the artist.

MŌR will process the transaction with the purchaser and provide the artist with confirmation of sale.

Payment due to the artist will be made within 30 days of MŌR receiving cleared payment from the purchaser.

Where an artist is VAT registered, this must be declared to MŌR before the exhibition and any applicable VAT arrangements agreed before the work is offered for sale.

No additional gallery charges will be deducted from the artist's share unless specifically agreed with the artist in writing.

08 / DISCOUNTS

MŌR will not reduce the agreed retail price of a work without prior agreement from the artist.

Any proposed trade, collector or promotional discount affecting the artist's return will therefore be discussed before a sale is confirmed.

09 / DELIVERY

Selected work must arrive at MŌR by the specified delivery deadline.

Unless otherwise agreed, artists are responsible for arranging and paying for delivery of their work to MŌR.

Work must arrive exhibition-ready and appropriately protected.

Two-dimensional work must be supplied ready to hang unless otherwise agreed. Any specialist display, installation, fixing or technical requirements must be declared at the point of submission.

MŌR reserves the right not to exhibit work that arrives damaged, materially differs from the submitted work, is unsafe to display, or cannot reasonably be installed within the gallery.

10 / INSTALLATION + DISPLAY

MŌR will be responsible for the curation and installation of the exhibition.

By participating, artists give MŌR reasonable discretion over the positioning, grouping and presentation of their work within the exhibition.

We cannot guarantee a particular location, height, grouping or amount of surrounding space for any individual work.

Any specific conservation or handling requirements must be communicated before delivery.

11 / CARE + INSURANCE

MŌR will exercise reasonable professional care while selected work is in its possession.

Responsibility for the work passes to MŌR upon confirmed receipt at the gallery and remains with MŌR until collection by the artist or handover to an agreed return carrier following the exhibition.

Artists are responsible for ensuring work is adequately packed and insured while being transported to MŌR.

For returned works, responsibility and insurance during transit will sit with the party arranging the return shipment unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Any existing damage, fragility or special handling requirements must be declared before the work is delivered.

12 / UNSOLD WORK + RETURN

Unsold work must be collected, or return arrangements agreed, within the collection period communicated by MŌR.

Unless otherwise agreed, the artist is responsible for the cost of returning unsold work.

Where return shipping is required, artists may be asked to provide suitable reusable packaging or arrange collection by their preferred carrier.

Work cannot remain indefinitely at MŌR following the exhibition. Any exceptional arrangements must be agreed in advance.

13 / COPYRIGHT

Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the work remain with the artist.

Sale of the physical work does not transfer copyright to MŌR or to the purchaser.

By participating, the artist grants MŌR a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to photograph and reproduce images of the selected work for purposes directly connected with the exhibition and MŌR's activities, including:

website
social media
email/newsletters
press and publicity
printed exhibition material
documentation and archive

Where reasonably practicable, the artist will be credited.

This permission does not permit MŌR to reproduce the work for unrelated commercial merchandise or license it to a third party for commercial reproduction without the artist's prior agreement.

14 / PHOTOGRAPHY + PUBLICITY

Selected works may be professionally photographed by or on behalf of MŌR.

Artists may be asked to provide additional high-resolution images and information for press and promotional purposes.

By submitting, applicants confirm that they own or have permission to use any images supplied and permit MŌR to use those images in connection with the open call, selection process and exhibition.

MŌR may use photographs of the exhibition after its conclusion as part of its permanent archive, website, social media and future editorial or promotional material.

15 / ORIGINALITY + AUTHORITY TO SELL

By submitting, the applicant confirms that:

the work is their own original work;

they are the legal owner of the work or otherwise have full authority to offer it for sale;

the work does not knowingly infringe another person's copyright or intellectual property rights;

all information supplied about the work is accurate;

and there are no existing agreements that would prevent MŌR from exhibiting or selling the work under these terms.

Where work is part of a limited edition, the edition number and total edition size must be clearly stated.

16 / WITHDRAWAL

Please submit only if the work is genuinely available.

Once a work has been selected and the artist has accepted their place in the exhibition, withdrawal should only occur in exceptional circumstances.

If circumstances arise that may prevent participation, the artist should contact MŌR as soon as possible.

17 / SALES FOLLOWING THE EXHIBITION

MŌR's 45% commission applies to sales completed during the agreed exhibition and exclusivity period.

Where a purchaser first encounters or makes a specific enquiry about the work through OTHER or directly through MŌR during the exhibition, and that enquiry results in a sale shortly after the exhibition, the sale should continue to be handled through MŌR.

This provision is intended to protect genuine exhibition-generated enquiries rather than create ongoing representation of the artist.

Unless separately agreed in writing, MŌR has no commission entitlement on unrelated future sales of the artist's other work.

18 / CHANGES OR CANCELLATION

In exceptional circumstances, MŌR reserves the right to alter exhibition dates, opening arrangements or other practical details.

If the exhibition cannot proceed, artists will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.

MŌR will not be responsible for consequential costs incurred by an artist beyond obligations expressly agreed in writing.

19 / DATA

Information submitted through the open call will be used by MŌR for administering submissions, selection, exhibition organisation, sales and associated communication.

Applicant information will not be sold to third parties.

Submission to OTHER does not automatically subscribe applicants to unrelated marketing communications.

20 / AGREEMENT

Submitting work constitutes agreement to these submission terms.

Artists selected for OTHER may subsequently be asked to confirm acceptance of the final consignment details for their work, including:

Artist
Title
Date
Medium
Dimensions
Edition, where applicable
Retail price
MŌR commission: 45%
Artist share: 55%

Any exhibition-specific arrangements agreed subsequently in writing between MŌR and the artist will form part of these terms.

We Are Delighted To Have You!

The studio is a site of ongoing dialogue — between artists and land, between craft and ritual, between what we make and how we live. Our space is small by design, inviting close looking, presence, and reflection.

Here, curation is considered, selection deliberate, and each piece leaves its mark long after you depart.

Move slowly, notice more, leave differently than you arrived.
