Bowl. Light On Dark Water
Dark water. Wet earth. Light caught on the surface.
LaKrista Morton’s Light Through Dark Water tableware brings a depth and richness to GATHER that feels instinctively of the season.
Her Tenmoku-inspired wood ash glaze, developed over several years, moves between deep brown and near-black: glossy, reflective and changing continually with the light. Its origins lie in the earth-stained burns, rivers and mountain lochs of the Highland landscape.
Around the table, these are functional pieces — made to hold, pour and serve. But their dark surfaces do something more: catching the last of the light as autumn gathers outside.
