A variation on the moon jar form, this vessel continues Papworth’s study of volume, surface, and restraint. Thrown in stoneware and finished in a deep matte black Tenmoku glaze, the surface is punctuated by small inlaid chips of porcelain — a quiet interplay of light and dark, gloss and matte.
The rounded body narrows gently at the base and opens to a wide, balanced rim. A piece of quiet contrast and poise, embodying both weight and stillness.
