Wobble Dish
RACHEL ASHCROFT
Spalted Beech
There is weight to Rachel Ashcroft’s work that felt important for GATHER
Walnut, spalted beech, oak and ebonised oak bring darker tones and richly marked surfaces to the table — materials that feel particularly at home as the year turns and life begins to move indoors.
Made from locally sourced, often storm-fallen or diseased timber, each piece follows what is already present in the wood. Bowls wobble. Grain remains visible. Knots and markings become part of the object.
Among a table of many hands and materials, Rachel’s pieces ground the gathering: tactile, generous forms made to be handled, filled, passed around and lived with.
