A pair of smaller wall hangings, woven from the raw fleece of two pedigree
Shetland sheep, blade-sheared by a friend and shepherdess on the West Coast.
Combining dark brown (nine-year-old Susie) and grey (yearling Eva) the two
distinct fleeces meet in the middle in a ripple to create a unified whole. In both
pieces, while it may look like each half contains a mix of the two fleeces, in
actuality Susie’s brown fleece contains greys that match Eva’s and similarly, Eva’s
grey fleece contains shades of brown that match Susie’s perfectly.
Handwoven from raw, unspun wool in Inverness-shire, Scotland by Julia Rebaudo.
