OPEN CALL. ARTIST SUBMISSION

THE IDEA

THE FAMILIAR, SEEN DIFFERENTLY.

For our first open exhibition, MŌR invites artists and makers to submit one work that looks again at something we think we know.

A landscape.
A vessel.
A figure.
An object.
A material.
A place.

OTHER is interested in the point at which the familiar becomes something else.

A traditional material used unexpectedly. An ordinary object given new significance. A landscape reduced, abstracted or reimagined. A familiar form shifted through scale, process, surface or perspective.

We are looking for work that is contemporary, considered and materially strong — but importantly, work made to live with.

Painting, drawing, print, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, wood, glass, photography and mixed media are all welcome.

There is no requirement to make new work specifically for the exhibition.

THE DATES

Submissions open: Monday 4 January 2027
Submissions close: Sunday 14 February 2027

SUBMISSIONS

Submissions are open to artists, makers and practitioners working across disciplines.

We welcome painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, wood, glass, photography, print, drawing, mixed media and work that sits somewhere between them.

You do not need to have exhibited with MŌR before.

SELECTION

This is a curated open exhibition.

Submitting work does not guarantee inclusion. Selection will be made by MŌR with consideration given both to the individual work and to the exhibition as a whole.

We are interested in creating a conversation between works rather than filling a room.

All applicants will hear from us by 28 February 2027.

Selected work must be available for the duration of the exhibition and delivered to MŌR by 21 March 2027.

Further exhibition, delivery and sales information will be provided to selected artists.

Submission Form

ONE WORK

For this exhibition, each artist is invited to submit one work only.
Not a collection. Not a portfolio. Not six possibilities for us to choose between.
One work. Your choice.
Something you believe belongs in the room.

We want the act of choosing to be part of the submission.

Upload File
Upload supported file (Max 15MB)

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT
Please read the exhibition terms before submitting your work.
These cover selection, exclusivity, commission, delivery, insurance and the return of unsold work.

Your work has been received.
We review every submission carefully and will be in touch after the submission deadline.

NEWSLETTER

We Are Delighted To Have You!

The studio is a site of ongoing dialogue — between artists and land, between craft and ritual, between what we make and how we live. Our space is small by design, inviting close looking, presence, and reflection.

Here, curation is considered, selection deliberate, and each piece leaves its mark long after you depart.

Move slowly, notice more, leave differently than you arrived.
